With Pieters, GTA has started an exclusive partnership with Purfi to bring you some of the most renewing & eco-friendly mattress fabrics there are. Purfi introduces a new way of rejuvenating fibres from textile waste through their patented process of “Reverse spinning”. This technology differentiates from conventional methods, which is done in a harsher, more deteriorating way. With Purfi, we minimise the impact on the fibres which results in longer fibres and eventually in stronger yarns.
There are several advantages to Purfi. One of them is that the technology has no limits as to what can or cannot be recycled: any type of fabric, any composition… Purfi can handle it. What goes in the machine, comes back out!
Purfi has a minimal impact on the planet
The rejuvenation process uses 96% less water, 90% less energy and emits very little CO2. That’s how we help reduce the environmental strain on our planet. We can rejuvenate waste materials up to 17 times. Moreover, the entire process from recycling old fabrics to producing new fabrics happens within an area of 40 km². A great local for local practice! Ánd perfectly anticipating 2026, when the EU will prohibit waste materials coming from outside of the European Union.
Last but not least, to fully close the loop, Purfi is setting up a return flow where customers can hand in their old fabrics, whether virgin or recycled. And who knows, they might see them again in one of their next deliveries. All of this without losing any comfort or quality of the fabric.
